Who we are

This website is run by the owners of Villa Verde, a privately owned holiday villa in Almancil, Algarve, Portugal. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, message us on WhatsApp (+44 7976 211932).

What we collect

• Booking requests: your name, email address, phone number (optional), postal address (optional), your chosen dates, the number of adults and children, and any special requests.
• Contact enquiries: your name, email address, phone number (optional), any dates you mention, group size and your message.
• Site usage: anonymous, aggregated visit statistics (pages viewed, country, device type) via Vercel Web Analytics. This does not use cookies and does not identify you personally.

Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and to confirm, manage and arrange payment for your stay.
• To keep a record of past guests and stays, so we can look after returning guests and meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your information, share it with marketing companies, or send you marketing emails.

Where it's stored

Your details are stored securely with our hosting and database providers (Vercel and Neon), who process it on our behalf. Only the villa's owners can access it, through a password-protected admin area.

Third-party services on this site

• Google Maps — the embedded map on our homepage is provided by Google, which may set its own cookies when it loads.
• Google Fonts — our fonts are loaded from Google's servers.
• Airbnb & WhatsApp — if you follow a link to Airbnb or WhatsApp, their own privacy policies apply.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and guest records for as long as needed to manage your stay and to meet legal and tax record-keeping requirements. Enquiries that don't lead to a booking are deleted when no longer needed.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law (GDPR), you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Just message us and we'll sort it out. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or Portugal's data protection authority, the CNPD (cnpd.pt).
